A social handle by name Bakatsine(@Dankatsina) who is a security analyst has reported that Bandits came in the night and abducted a popular respected Islamic cleric, by name Sheikh Mustapha Aliyu Unguwar Mai Kawo and several girls in Katsina State. 

The cleric was said to have been abducted in Gidan Kaji, Kankara Local Government Area of the state on Saturday, April 12, 2025. 

In Sukuntuni community, Kankia Local Government Area, the bandits killed one person, rustled many cows and abducted numerous girls. 

The security analyst also confirmed that bandits on Sunday night, April 13, also invaded the Tamarke community in Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State, kidnapping one resident, barely a day after the abduction of a prominent Islamic cleric. 

According to Bakatsine, the attackers stormed the Tamarke community under the cover of darkness, firing sporadically before whisking away a local resident to an unknown destination. 

"Yesterday night, bandits invaded the Tamarke community in Bakori LGA, Katsina State and abducted one person. Just less than 24hrs after the abduction of Sheikh Mustapha Aliyu Unguwar Mai-Kawo in Ƙankara LGA,” Bakatsine wrote on Monday.
