A professor from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) has been abducted by suspected kidnappers. According to the report, The incident occurred on Sunday morning, October 27, 2024, along the Ugwuogo-Nike-Opi-Nsukka Road in Enugu State.
The victim is identified as Professor Oguejiofo Ujam, a senior lecturer in the Department of Pure and Industrial Chemistry. He also serves as the Dean of the School of General Studies at the university.
Details about the kidnapping are still limited at this time. Authorities report that the abductors have not yet contacted Professor Ujam's family to demand a ransom at the time of this report.
This is a concerning development for the university community. UNN officials and the Police are working to gather more information.Â
Reports from numerous kidnapped victims along the axis of Ugwuogo-Nike-Opi Road mostly confirmed that the perpetrators are herdsmen.
