Pharrell Williams critises celebrities political endorsement

Renowned hip-hop producer Pharrell Williams has recently expressed his disapproval of celebrities publicly endorsing political candidates, particularly in light of the upcoming U.S. presidential Election.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Williams clarified that he considers himself political and finds it irksome when his peers use their platform to influence others' voting decisions.

He emphasized his frustration with celebrities who offer unsolicited political opinions, stating, "I don't do politics. In fact, I get annoyed sometimes when I see celebrities trying to tell you who to vote for, There are celebrities that I respect that have an opinion, but not all of them. I'm one of them people who says, 'What the heck? Shut up. Nobody asked you'."

While acknowledging that some celebrities he respects may have valid viewpoints, Williams' stance reflects his belief that not every public figure should feel compelled to weigh in on political matters.

This comes against the backdrop of a number of American celebrities, such as Taylor Swift, Megan Thee Stallion, and Billie Eilish, publicly endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris.

In contrast, former President Donald Trump has garnered support from figures like billionaire Elon Musk and Blac Chyna. Williams' candid remarks underscore a broader debate within the entertainment industry about the role of celebrities in shaping public opinion and the potential impact of their political endorsements.
