Graphic: Ogbete Main Market Chairman Murdered at Topland Enugu

Stephen Aniagu, the Chairman of Ogbete Main Market Traders Association (OMMATA) in Enugu, was tragically murdered on the evening of Saturday, September 14, 2024.

The incident occurred around 7 PM at Moses Ogbodo Junction, beside Topland Market in Amaechi Awkunanaw area of Enugu South Local Government.

According to sources, Aniagu was likely heading home after the days market activities when he was ambushed.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing gunshots and fleeing for safety. Upon returning a few minutes later, they discovered Aniagu’s lifeless body riddled with bullets, and his car was missing.

A source, who wished to remain anonymous, stated, “His body was riddled with bullets, he was shot multiple times by his attacker.”
