British National Andrew Wynne Wanted in Nigeria for Alleged Coup Plot

Andrew Wynne

Andrew Wynne, also known as Drew Povey or Andrew Povich, a British national, has been declared wanted by Nigerian authorities for allegedly orchestrating a plot to overthrow the government of President Bola Tinubu.

He is accused of establishing a network of sleeper cells aimed at destabilizing the nation and inciting chaos.

Wynne allegedly rented premises at Labour House in Abuja for an "Iva Valley Bookshop" and set up "STARS of Nations Schools" as fronts for his activities.

Investigations revealed that he directed operations, funded violent protests, and provided financial support to local collaborators, urging them to attack police and military facilities, which he believed would provoke an international backlash against the Nigerian government. These actions violate Nigeria's Terrorism (Prevention) Act of 2011.

Following the investigation, Wynne fled the country, and both he and his local associate, Lucky Ehis Obiyan, have been placed on a global wanted list.

The Nigerian Police have intensified efforts to apprehend them and have arrested several individuals linked to the plot
