Bail Application Filed for Whistleblower PIDOM

The bail application for PIDOM, also known as Isaac Bristol Tamunobifiri, has been officially submitted following his recent court appearance.

PIDOM faces serious charges, including money laundering, cybercrime, and unlawfully obtaining and sharing classified documents.

On September 3, 2024, PIDOM appeared before Justice Emeka Nwite at the Federal High Court in Abuja, pleading not guilty to all nine charges.

The prosecution strongly opposed the bail request, citing the severity of the allegations and potential risks to governmental integrity.

The court will decide on the bail application on September 23, 2024, with PIDOM remaining in custody at Kuje Correctional Centre until then.

The charges against PIDOM involve using social media to mobilize support for government actions and spreading false information about financial dealings of government officials.

His arrest on August 5, 2024, has garnered significant public attention, with social media campaigns under hashtags like #FreePidom and #WhereisPidom calling for his release.
