Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, will represent President Bola Tinubu at the Second Indonesia-Africa Forum in Bali, Indonesia, from September 1 to 3, 2024.

The forum, themed "Bandung Spirit for Africa’s Agenda 2023," commemorates the historic 1955 Bandung Conference, which fostered solidarity between Asia and Africa. It aims to align Indonesia’s Vision 2045 with the African Union’s Agenda 2063.

Idris's participation underscores Nigeria's commitment to enhancing bilateral relations with Indonesia, which has designated Nigeria as its primary African investment destination from 2022 to 2026.

Trade between the two nations reached $6 billion in 2023, up from $4 billion a decade ago. Indonesia has also supported Nigeria by donating 1.58 million doses of the pentavalent vaccine in 2023.

During the forum, Idris will promote Nigeria's investment opportunities and advocate for greater involvement of Nigerian businesses in Indonesia's economy, viewing the event as a pivotal step in strengthening ties between Nigeria and Africa with Indonesia
