Zhongshan Fucheng Industrial Investment Co. Limited has announced the release of one of three Nigerian presidential jets, following a French court order.
This decision was made to accommodate President Bola Tinubu's upcoming meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron.
The aircraft, which includes a Dassault Falcon 7X, a Boeing 737-7N6/BBJ, and an Airbus A330-243, were seized amid a legal dispute stemming from a revoked contract with Ogun State in 2016.
Zhongshan claims the Nigerian government reneged on a deal to develop a free trade area, leading to arbitration that awarded the company $70 million in damages, now totaling approximately $81 million due to interest.
