Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Resigns and Flees to India Amid Deadly Protests

Bangladesh's Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has resigned and fled to India amid escalating protests that have turned deadly.

The military confirmed her resignation, and reports indicate she took a helicopter to seek safety.

The protests, which began over job quotas for civil service positions, have spiraled into broader anti-government demonstrations, resulting in over 300 deaths, including 14 police officers.

Sunday was particularly violent, with at least 94 fatalities reported.

As tensions rise, protesters have vowed to continue their demands for Hasina's resignation, while the military has imposed curfews and restricted internet access to control the unrest.
