Nasarawa State Government Allocates N500m for CCTV Installation to Combat Crime Wave

The Nasarawa State government has set aside a substantial amount of N500 million in its 2024 budget for the installation of closed-circuit televisions (CCTV) and electricity equipment in Lafia and its surrounding areas. Mrs. Munirah Abdullahi, the Commissioner of Finance, Budget, and Planning, disclosed the budget allocation for the CCTV project during a press briefing in Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa State.

The 2024 appropriation bill, named "Budget of Renewed Commitment," aims to address the security challenges faced by the state. By investing in CCTV technology, the government hopes to enhance surveillance and deter criminal activities.
