Peter Obi Mourns Tragic Loss of Students in Anambra State Natural Disaster

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 election, expressed his condolences to the families of the students who lost their lives in a natural disaster that struck Tansi International College in Anambra State over the weekend. 

During a rainstorm on Saturday, November 4, nine students were struck by lightning, and three of them died while the rest are currently receiving treatment at the hospital.

In a statement on his social media page, Peter Obi wrote, "I am greatly saddened by the unfortunate natural disaster that happened at Tansi International College, Awka this weekend. 

It was reported that 9 students of the College were struck by thunder, on Saturday, November 4, during a rainstorm. Sadly, 3 of the students lost their lives, while the rest are responding to treatment at the hospital. 

I commiserate with the bereaved families, students, and management of the College. May God give all the strength to bear this great loss and grant eternal rest to the dead, and quick recovery to the injured." The incident is a tragic reminder of the dangers of natural disasters and the need for safety measures to be put in place to prevent such occurrences.
