A former elementary school teacher is facing child rape charges after allegedly having sex with a 12-year-old boy and telling him she was “pregnant” with his child.
Alissa McCommon, 38, from Covington, Tennessee, was arrested in September 2023 after exchanging SnapChat messages with the young victim. She had taught him in fourth grade at Charger Academy.
She appeared in court on Tuesday, October 3, where prosecutors played recordings of her phone calls and texts with the boy. In one of them, she claimed to be carrying his baby and said she would “raise this baby” by herself. She also warned him not to tell anyone about their affair or he would “regret” it.
The authorities have not confirmed if McCommon is really pregnant or if the boy is the father. In another message, she hinted at something “serious and huge” that involved him.
She also admitted her fault and asked him to delete her number and not get her in trouble. She said she would never contact him again and begged him not to say anything.
McCommon was fired from Charger Academy in early 2021 after being accused of having sex with the boy at her home. She is also suspected of having sexual relations with other students, including sending them photos of herself in lingerie and asking them to have sex.
She was taken back to the Tipton County Jail and will appear in court again on Monday.
