Naira Marley Faces Production Warrant for Credit Card Fraud and Murder Case

A production warrant has been issued by Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, for Nigerian singer, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley.

The singer is facing 11-count charges of conspiracy and credit card fraud by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

The trial was adjourned on Friday, October 6, 2023, because the defendant was not present in court. His lawyer, Olalekan Ojo, SAN, said that the defendant was detained by the Police for questioning over the murder of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, also known as Mohbad.

The prosecution counsel, Bilkisu Buhari, asked the court to order the production of the defendant on the next trial date.

Justice Oweibo granted the request of the prosecution counsel and ordered the production of the defendant.

The trial will continue on October 30, 2023.
