Rema, Asake, Burna Boy and More: All the Winners at the 2023 Headies Awards

The Headies Awards is one of the most prestigious events in the African music industry. It celebrates the best of Afrobeats and African culture, showcasing the talents and achievements of artists from across the continent.
This year, the 16th edition of the Headies Awards took place on Sunday, September 4, at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta. The show was hosted by American actor, Terrence Jenkins and Nigerian actress Osas Ighodoro.

The night was full of amazing performances, surprises, and memorable moments. Here are some of the highlights and winners of the 2023 Headies Awards.

Rema Wins Big

Rema was the biggest winner of the night, taking home three awards. He won Best Male Artiste, African Artiste Of The Year, and Digital Artiste Of The Year. The young star thanked his fans, his team, and God for his success. He also performed his hit song “Calm Down”, which won him the Best Video Director award for Director K.

Asake Gets Next Rated Award and a Bentley

Asake was another big winner, receiving two awards. He won the coveted Next Rated Award, which recognizes the most promising new artist in the industry. He also won Album Of The Year for his debut project “Mr. Money With The Vibe”. As part of his Next Rated Award, he received a 2022 Bentley Bentayga SUV as a gift from the organizers.

Burna Boy Continues His Reign

Burna Boy proved once again why he is one of the most influential artists in Africa. He won two awards: Afrobeat Single of the Year for “Last Last” and Best R&B Song for “In Between”. He also delivered a stunning performance of his songs “Soweto” and “Declan Rice”, which featured ODUMODUBLVCK.
