Chris Danjuma is the new coach of the Falconets, Nigeria’s U20 Women’s National Team. The NFF Technical Committee selected him after screening and interviewing applicants who met the required qualifications.

Danjuma took the Falconets to the last eight of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica in 2022. He also coached the Super Falcons on an interim basis.

He will be assisted by Effioanwan Ekpo, a former Super Falcons star, and Mansur Abdullahi, a former U20 and U17 girls coach.

Ekpo played for Nigeria from 2000 to 2010 and won three Women’s Africa Cup of Nations titles. She also featured in two FIFA World Cups, two Olympic Games, and one All-African Games.

Yahaya Audu will be the goalie coach.

The Falconets will start their campaign to qualify for the 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup against Mauritius in Saint Pierre on October 8. The second leg will be in Abuja on October 14, 2023.
