Here are the Five Judges to Deliver Verdict on Tinubu’s Presidential Election Victory Tomorrow

The fate of Bola Tinubu, the president-elect of Nigeria, will be decided tomorrow by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal. The tribunal will rule on the petitions filed by five opposition parties, who are challenging Tinubu’s victory in the February 25, 2023, presidential election.

The five parties are the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), Action Peoples Party (APP), Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and the Action Alliance (AA). They have alleged various irregularities and malpractices in the conduct of the election, which they claim favored Tinubu and his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The tribunal, headed by Justice Haruna Tsammani, the Chief Registrar of the Court of Appeal, has concluded hearing the arguments and evidence of the parties and their witnesses. The tribunal also comprises four other justices from different divisions of the Court of Appeal. They are Justice Stephen Adah from Kogi, Justice Monsurat Bolaji-Yusuf from Oyo, Justice Moses Ugo from Bayelsa, and Justice Abba Mohammed from Kano.

The verdict of the tribunal is not final, as any aggrieved party can still appeal to the Supreme Court, the highest court in the land. However, the outcome of the tribunal may have significant implications for the political stability and security of Nigeria, Africa’s most populous nation and largest economy
