The Governor of Osun State Ademola Adeleke and his aides reportedly survived an aircraft crash after the private jet they had boarded, caught fire at the take-off point. The incident occurred at the domestic wing of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos1. The Bombardier Global Express 6000, owned by billionaire businessman Chief Adedeji Adeleke, was about to take off from Lagos to Abuja when a loud explosion was heard from one of the engines, causing the jet to abort take-off immediately.

According to Sam Iwuajoku, CEO of Executive Jets, the private jet had Foreign Object Damage (FOD) due to a bird nest in one of the engines. He explained that when an aircraft is parked and not properly covered, birds can build their nests inside, which can spark high temperatures.
