As the Moslem faithful around the world prepare to celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad, the Holy Prophet was born on September 7, 622. To mark the day, the Federal Government has designated September 27, 2023, as a public holiday in remembrance of this event.
The Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, thanked Muslims for attending this year's event in a statement that Dr. Oluwatoyin Akinlade, the Ministry's Permanent Secretary, issued on his behalf.
He urged them to cultivate the deep spiritual values that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) displayed, such as love, patience, tolerance, and perseverance.
The Minister advised young people to embrace hard labour and peaceful attitudes toward their fellow citizens, regardless of their race, social class, or religious beliefs.
