According to the 2023 Brand Finance City Index report, Lagos, which serves as Nigeria's commercial capital, has secured the fifth position among the most favorable African cities for residing, working, and investing.

The assessment was established on a global survey encompassing nearly 15,000 individuals worldwide. This comprehensive survey, conducted in April 2023 across 20 countries spanning all continents, unveiled the city's placement.

Lagos and Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya, have secured rankings lower than those of Cape Town (South Africa), Cairo (Egypt), Johannesburg (South Africa), and Casablanca (Morocco).

Nairobi stands as the sixth-ranked African city, achieving a score of 55.1 percent, following closely behind Lagos.

The analysis of the survey positions Lagos at 56.7 percent, trailing behind the top four African cities: Cape Town (62.9 percent), Cairo (60.7 percent), Johannesburg (59.7 percent), and Casablanca (59.3 percent).

On a global scale, London (England) clinches the title of the highest-ranking city brand with a remarkable score of 84.6 percent. New York (the United States) and Paris (France) follow in second and third places, garnering 83.0 and 79.7 percent, respectively.
